Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

The Wabash College Community Engagement Fellow is a one-year professional development part-time opportunity for a recent college graduate, designed to provide meaningful work experience at the intersection of higher education, nonprofit development, and community-engaged learning. This fellowship will support Wabash’s College and Community Collaboration (CCC) initiative in partnership with the Latino Community Center. The Fellow will work to strengthen LCC capacity, increase community-engaged learning among students and local organizations, and foster mutually beneficial partnerships across the campus and community.

The position will report jointly to the Wabash CCC grant team and LCC leadership. The Fellow will benefit from mentoring, cross-sector experience, and professional development opportunities, including exposure to nonprofit management, community-engaged learning, and philanthropic strategy.

Fellows may be eligible for an additional living stipend and/or meal plan, based upon availability. Fellows will participate in relevant trainings, including those associated with the Nonprofit Learning Series and CCC campus-community engagement programming.

This opportunity is ideal for recent Wabash College graduates interested in nonprofit work, civic leadership, or higher education and community relations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Network and Partnership Mapping

  • Develop and maintain a strategic map of partnerships and their connections to Wabash College's people, programs, and places.
  • Analyze data and report on gaps in service, areas of high engagement, and emerging needs.

Programming and Support Assistance

  • Assisting with planning and coordinating programming.
    • Coordinate off-campus catering.
    • Develop marketing materials.
    • Coordinate room reservation arrangements.
  • Assist in the delivery of the LCC programming, supporting logistics, promotion, and participant engagement.
  • Assist the director with printing and purchasing programming materials.
  • Assist in communicating effectively with other offices on campus and community partners.

Data and Impact Analysis

  • Catalog and manage qualitative and quantitative data related to LCC community engagement and professional development.
  • Leverage findings from external consultants and internal stakeholders to inform continuous improvement of the LCC initiative.
  • Contribute to reports, presentations, and storytelling that communicate the impact of the work.

Increase LCC Capacity

  • Support student workers by providing oversight on content planning, branding, and engagement strategies.
  • Ensure access to LCC facilities for community partners hosting evening events.

Required Qualifications

  • Wabash College Bachelor’s degree completed by start of appointment
  • Bilingual: English & Spanish
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a dynamic environment
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with managing data

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate experience with nonprofit operations, volunteer coordination, community-based learning, or philanthropy
  • Understanding of or interest in rural community dynamics and higher education community partnerships
  • Ability to interpret and present data in clear, actionable formats.
