POSITION SUMMARY:
Wabash College seeks candidates for its position of Senior Assistant Director of Admissions. The College invests significant resources to ensure all of its students can participate in off-campus and international immersion learning experiences, and almost 80% of all Wabash students secure paid internships as undergraduates.
The Senior Assistant Director of Regional Admissions is responsible for contributing to the overall recruitment efforts of the College by planning and implementing procedures and programs for attracting and matriculating students from markets across Northern Indiana as well as markets in contiguous states. The position is fully-remote, but the person will be expected to travel to campus for training, staff planning sessions, and key enrollment visit programs. Secondary responsibilities include outreach to school counselors and key influencers and the cultivation of Wabash alumni and parent volunteers. The Senior Assistant Director of Regional Admissions works closely with the Senior Associate Director of Regional Admissions to help the College meet its enrollment goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 1. Present information about Wabash to groups of students, parents, educators, and alumni on and off campus. Correspond with students, alumni, and parents. Follow-up with students using current contact management methods.
- Manage recruitment territory that includes high schools in Northern Indiana as well as markets outside of Indiana.
- Serve as liaison to community-based organizations in assigned territory.
- Collaborate with coaches recruiting student-athletes from assigned territory.
- Conduct admission interviews with prospective students.
- Conduct extensive outreach within assigned non-travel recruitment territory.
- Assist with general campus visits and programs as assigned.
- Serve on the Visit Program and Recruitment teams.
- Review, prepare and route completed applicant files to Admissions committee for review.
- Work effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrate a commitment to recruiting a diverse student population.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree is required. Three or more years of experience in college admissions or financial aid is preferred. Essential abilities include: familiarity with selective liberal arts colleges and non-profit organizations; experience in database administration or data analytics or related work; well-developed oral and written communication skills; excellent organizational and analytical skills; and the ability to work independently and with a team, as well as with various constituencies.
