Employees can access testing through their primary healthcare provider or community resources. Rapid tests are also available at local pharmacies; free tests can be ordered at https://special.usps.com/testkits (limited number per household).

If you test positive for COVID-19, you should isolate at home away from other people through day five (day zero is your first day of symptoms or the date you tested positive, whichever came first). If a negative test is obtained on day five or six, you may return to class or work but must wear a well-fitting mask (N95, KN95, Kf94) through day 10. If the test is positive, continue isolating.  

You should also inform the people that you interacted with for more than 15 minutes in a 24-hour period at a distance of six feet or closer in the 48 hours before you developed symptoms that they have been exposed to COVID-19. Please also send a message to the College Nurse using the Student Health Portal to inform her of your positive test.

The fastest way to identify a location where you can be vaccinated is to use the CDC’s website and enter your zip code. Persons in Indiana can register for a vaccination through the Indiana Department of Health website. Many vaccination locations offer vaccinations during business hours with no appointment necessary.

Filtration has been enhanced by upgrading to filters with higher MERV ratings in buildings across campus. Ventilation has been enhanced by maximizing the amount of fresh air brought in through HVAC systems and by maintaining ventilation during off hours. Wabash has not installed ionization systems or other unproven technologies, choosing instead to focus on the proven techniques that maximize the air change rate. Air quality measurement sampling for CO2 and aerosol particle concentrations are done periodically.

Yes, many vaccinated persons will choose to wear masks to protect themselves or members of their families who are unable to be vaccinated, particularly when the community transmission is high. If you see someone wearing a mask indoors, consider it an invitation to put on your own – always err on the side of being a responsible citizen.

Consider the size of your group, the meeting space, the function of the meeting, and the preferences of the involved individuals. If one of the goals is connection, it is better to meet in person. If the meeting primarily involves looking at documents or there are people at special risk, consider meeting on Zoom.

If you choose to meet in person, find a well-ventilated space and consider the risk factors of the meeting participants. Remember, anyone should be allowed to wear a mask at any time.
